Flashback to launch of Chicago bid for Gay Games VII

A fascinating bit of archival video of a news report on the launch of the Chicago bid committee for Gay Games VII. As you know, the result of these efforts was the highly successful Chicago Games Inc. and the 2006 Gay Games, which hosted a more modest 11,000 participants, a bit fewer than the very ambitious 15,000 announced here!

Hah. Well WE never said it was bigger than the Super Bowl or World Cup, though we did claim more athletes than the Olympics (true). Where they got their 15,000 figure ... who knows. We always said up to 12,000. But still, good to see Lester Holt and the gang talking about our little tournament in 2006.
