Los Dogos football team from Argentina denounce Sepp Blatter and choice of Qatar as World Cup host

Winners of the bronze medal at Gay Games VIII, Los Dogos denounce the recent comments by Sepp Blatter, president of FIFA and the choice of Qatar as host of the 2022 World Cup:

El equipo gay de fútbol de Argentina campeón del mundo en 2007, Los Dogos, repudió el jueves la elección de Qatar como sede del Mundial 2022, indicando que el pequeño Estado de Oriente Medio condena la homosexualidad con penas de prisión.

La asociación civil que representa a Los Dogos y a los deportistas argentinos homosexuales llamó a referentes de derechos humanos a presionar a la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CSF) y la Fifa para que reconsideren la elección de Qatar para organizar el Mundial 2022.

'Repudiamos la elección de Qatar como sede del torneo de fútbol Fifa 2022 por entender que las leyes de esa nación condenan la homosexualidad con penas de hasta cinco años de prisión', dijo la asociación civil Deportistas Argentinos Gays.
